Clinical Observation on the Distance between Cemento-enamel Junction and Bifurcation of Root in Molars.

Abstract
|
|
|
Three hundred thirty five extracted upper and lower molars were measured buccally and lingually to determine the mean on the distance between cemento-enamel junction and the level of the most apically located point of the bifurcation.
1. Bifurcation of the root of the each tooth were as follows;
Lower first molar; cervically one-fourth df total root length.
Lower second molar; cervically one-third of total root length
Upper first molar; cervically one-third of total root length
Upper second molar; cervically half of total root length
2. In the distance between cemento-enamel junction and bifurcation of root, the mean values were as follows;
Lower first molar;
a. buccally, ♂ 2.62mm ♀ 2.81mm
b. Lingually, ♂ 3.90mm ♀ 3.86mm
Lower second molar;
a. buccally, ♂ 3.50mm ♀ 3.49mm
b. Lingually, ♂ 4.54mm ♀ 4.56mm
Upper first molar;
a. Buccaly, ♂ 4.08mm ♀ 4.08mm
b. Mesially, ♂ 4.66mm ♀ 4.66mm
c. Distally, ♂ 5.11mm ♀ 5.04mm
Upper second molar;
a. Buccally, ♂ 5.22mm ♀ 5.20mm
b. Mesially, ♂ 5.55mm ♀ 5.49mm
c. Distally, ♂ 5.87mm ♀ 5.75mm
